Scientific name: Linckia multifora
Taxonomy: Kingdom Animalia → Phylum Echinodermata → Subphylum Asterozoa → Class Asteroidea → Subclass Ambuloasteroidea → Infraclass Neoasteroidea → Superorder Valvatacea → Order Valvatida → Family Ophidiasteridae → Genus Linckia
...also Spotted Linckia
Locations: Hawaii, Indo-Pacific
Group: Marine Life → Invertebrates → Sea Stars
Given the coloration, I bet it tastes like strawberries or Froot Loops.
Like most sea stars, linckia can reproduce by dropping an arm. The arm grows into a new sea star; the star then regrows the missing arm.
The ones in Hawaii are more pink and white. Elsewhere in the Pacific, they've got yellow and orange mixed in as well.
